This study aims to analyze the relationship between components of the Health Belief Model (HBM) and waste management behavior among coastal communities in Mekar Village, Konawe Regency. This quantitative study utilized a cross-sectional design. A total of 217 respondents were selected using a simple random sampling method. The research variables included perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, perceived benefits, perceived barriers, and cues to action as independent variables, and waste management behavior as the dependent variable. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using univariate and bivariate methods. The chi-square test results showed the following values: perceived susceptibility (ρ=0.534), perceived severity (ρ=0.030), perceived benefits (ρ=1.000), perceived barriers (ρ=0.000), and cues to action (ρ=0.000). The findings indicate no significant relationship between perceived susceptibility and perceived benefits with waste management behavior in Mekar Village, Konawe Regency, in 2024. However, there is a significant relationship between perceived severity, perceived barriers, and cues to action with waste management behavior in the community
Putri Ayu Rutu Fifi Nirmala G Nurmaladewi Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Sains dan Kesehatan 2025-05-30 2025-05-30 4 1 1 8 10.57151/jsika.v4i1.1022 Analisis Perilaku Pengelolaan Sampah Menggunakan Teori Health Belief Model Pada Masyarakat Pesisir https://www.ejournal.poltekbaubau.ac.id/index.php/jsika/article/view/1023
Waste refers to any unused, unwanted, or discarded materials resulting from human activities, excluding natural occurrences. According to the World Economic Forum's 2020 data, the world generates approximately 300 million tons of plastic waste annually. Indonesia contributes 187.2 million tons of marine waste yearly. In Sulawesi Tenggara Province, waste generation reached 125,445.34 tons in 2021, increasing to 164,078.87 tons in 2022 and 437,958.44 tons in 2023. Konawe Regency generated 37,785.82 tons in 2021, rising to 38,879.65 tons in 2023. This study investigates the relationship between the Health Belief Model (HBM) and waste management behavior among coastal communities in Bajoe Village, Konawe Regency, in 2024. This quantitative research employs an observational-analytical approach with a cross-sectional design. The population consists of 249 individuals, with 151 samples selected through accidental sampling. Chi-square tests were used for statistical analysis. The result of the study Perceived Susceptibility (P = 0.000), Perceived Barriers (P = 0.000), Cues to Action (P = 0.020), Perceived Severity (P = 0.695), Perceived Benefits (P = 0.818). Based on the research results Perceived Susceptibility, Perceived Barriers, and Cues to Action significantly influence waste management behavior among coastal communities in Bajoe Village, Konawe Regency, in 2024. Conversely, Perceived Severity and Perceived Benefits do not significantly impact waste management behavior.
Nurzani Fifi Nirmala G La Ode Ahmad Saktiansyah Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Sains dan Kesehatan 2025-05-30 2025-05-30 4 1 9 17 10.57151/jsika.v4i1.1023 Pengaruh Penggunaan Media Audio Visual Terhadap Kemandirian Menggosok Gigi Pada Anak Tunagrahita Kategori Ringan Di Sekolah Luar Biasa Mandara Kendari https://www.ejournal.poltekbaubau.ac.id/index.php/jsika/article/view/1054
Data the number of mentally retarded children in 2019 at the Mandara Kendari Spescial School totaled 35 people. Based on this data, the prevalence of diarrhea in West Java is included in the top 10 provinces with the highest diarrhea cases in Indonesia. Research suggests that the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers in general is the habit of mothers who do not apply PHBS while caring for their babies which results in babies tending to experience diarrhea. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of health counseling on Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) on the level of knowledge of mothers who have diarrhea toddlers. This study used a quasi-experimental research design, namely a study by conducting activities to determine the effect of PHBS health counseling on the level of knowledge of mothers who have diarrhea toddlers with a one group pre-test post-test design which is an experimental research design without a comparison group. The population was 20 respondents and total sampling was taken. The results of the analysis obtained using the Marginal Homogeneity test obtained a p value = 0.000, p value = 0.000 < α (0.05), then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning that there is an influence of health counseling on clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS) on the level of knowledge of mothers who have toddlers. One of the therapies used to reduce autism symptoms is the Casein-Free Gluten-Free (CFGF) diet. This therapy aims to address metabolic disorders caused by the "leaky gut" syndrome, in which gluten and casein are not fully digested, resulting in opioid peptides that can affect brain function. This study focuses on the effectiveness of the CFGF diet in reducing autism symptoms, including improvements in communication skills, emotional responses, and cognitive function. According to previous studies, implementing the CFGF diet is reported to reduce autism symptoms by 60-70%. The implementation of this diet involves replacing foods containing gluten and casein, such as bread and cow's milk, with alternatives like rice flour and almond milk. Adopting the CFGF diet can reduce gut permeability and improve neurological function in individuals with autism. Additionally, this diet is also associated with improved sleep patterns and increased attention in children with autism, which in turn can enhance learning abilities. Nevertheless, the diet must be supervised to ensure that nutritional needs are met. Literature reviews indicate that the CFGF diet has a significant positive impact on reducing autism symptoms, including improvements in eye contact, social behavior, and engagement in group activities. Thus, the CFGF diet can be an effective alternative therapy to support the development of children with autism, especially in social, cognitive, and emotional aspects.
Triyono Saputra Awaludin Hanifah Setiowati Teguh Wibowo Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Sains dan Kesehatan 2025-05-30 2025-05-30 4 1 29−33 29−33 10.57151/jsika.v4i1.1058 Efektivitas Pemberian Aroma Terapi Lemon Terhadap Penurunan Tingkat Kecemasan Pada Ibu Nifas https://www.ejournal.poltekbaubau.ac.id/index.php/jsika/article/view/1062
Postpartum anxiety can have a negative effect on the baby, the mental state of the mother of the baby herself, and her marital relationship.
